Workshop Details
This training is an IHW Athena Swan initiative. It is being run by the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).
The session provides a general understanding of mental health and wellbeing and covers the following areas:
- What we mean by mental health and wellbeing
- The prevalence and impact of mental health and responses in Scotland
- The factors which contribute to mental health problems
- 4 common mental health problems (signs and symptoms)
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Bipolar
- Schizophrenia
- What helps - practicalities for self-management, getting help
- Recovery, stigma and discrimination
- Supporting others
- How to ask someone about their mental health and having
the conversation that follows
- How to obtain further information
Places are very limited so if you have to cancel please do so through Eventbrite, so that your place can be offered to someone else.
Cancellations within 5 days of course date may be charged to your unit, if we cannot fill your place.
